 The history of Belek does not lay in Belek but in the famous archeological sites in the area : Perge with its Hellenistic gates and stadium, Aspendos famous for its magnificent amphitheater. The acoustics are so good, it is said that if you drop a coin in the centre of the arena you can hear it from the top row. The amphitheater is hosting opera and ballet festival in June).

 Belek is a modern resort and verything has been designed with the holidaymaker in mind. Most of the hotels lead down to the beach, a vast expanse of coarse golden sand, which stretches in both directions as far as the eye can see. It's the perfect place to spend long lazy days topping up your tan. Situated within aromatic pine forests by a sparkling sea, Belek has some wonderful international golf facilities under a dazzling blue sky. It is the ideal place for everyone, families as well as golfers.

This stretch of coastline is also a nesting ground for the loggerhead turtle and the lesser known green turtle, but you'll have to keep your eyes peeled if you want to catch a glimpse. A cruise up the Manavgat River provides a further opportunity to enjoy wildlife and can be combined with a trip to the Manavgat waterfalls and market.
